Teechart and single DLL (GetLicense issue)

Post by Atle » Tue Apr 10, 2007 7:03 pm

Hello

I have an application that supports a plugin architecture for different functionality. Needless to say i am now trying to implement a new dll to plug into this that uses the teechart .net v2 component.

I am struggeling with the GetLicense exception when distributing the compiled dll to the already installed and running .net application.

i have tried as mentioned here on the forum to change the registry entry
DesignKeyV2" Steema.TeeChart.TChart is a licensed component.
to xxSteema.TeeChart.TChart is a licensed component.
This gives a compile error so it would seem that the license information gets compiled correctly.

In the Tutorial 17 there is a statement:
"If you have successfully compiled TeeChart with license into a dll, please not that if you use that dll in another application you need to be sure to add the TeeChart lines to the LIcenses.licx of the final application"

I do not have the option of recompiling the final application to include this license information.

Any information or workarounds are highly appreciated.

Thankx :(

Hello,

If you do not have access to the final project that uses your dll then you need to distribute a version of TeeChart without license control. Please note that TeeChart may not be coded in a designtime environment without a Developer License (the license controlled version is intended to reduce the risk of that kind of improper use).

Please send a request for the version to sales@steema.com including your customer number so that they can authorise access to the non-restricted version.
