Just returned after prolonged absence. New installation of XE2 on Win7. Updated VCL. Where.how is the best way to import the new components into XE2? Step by step please.

Simply running the latest TeeChart installer should work fine in a clean installation. However, it can always find problems due to low privileges or other 3rd party tools installed previously. So, if you find any error during the process, don't hesitate to let us know and we'll try to provide a solution.

Deleted all and reinstalled. Wise installer ran fine. I then executed the "Recompile" shortcut, entered source path. "Begin" button is grayed out. "Installed environments" is blank.

Any assistance appreciated.

Do you have RAD XE2 with Update 4 installed and running fine?
If TeeRecompile shows the "Installed environments" list empty, it's indicating it can't find any IDE installed in your system.

Hi Hans,

This is most likely TeeRecompile can't find the IDE binaries. Are you running it with Administrator privileges? For XE2 it would be bds.exe at C:\Program Files\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\9.0\bin in a 32-bit operating system. Even though it shouldn't be a problem, did you install XE2 at a non-standard location? What about the binary installer for XE2, have you tried running it? Did it install the TeeChart components?

It was a standrd installation into Progrem Files | Embarcadero | Rad Studio.

Yes, running with admin privileges.

I navigated to program files | Embarcadero | bin and ran bds.exe. Then reopened the XE2 IDE. The only component tabs are TeeChart Standard (13 icons) and TeeChart Lite (2 icons).

What is the binary installer? Will be glad to give it a try.

Binary installers are those specific for each IDE. They don't install the source code but compiled packages, help files, documentation, examples, etc. Being a source code customer you also have access to those installers within your client area.

Please identify which folder contains the XE2-compatible code, which I will then try to compile and install.

Sources to be compiled and which are compatible with XE2 are at C:\Program Files\Steema Software\TeeChart Pro 2012 Full Source Code\Sources for a default 32-bit English installation. That's the path to be used in TeeRecompile.
