How do I install TeeChartRadXE2 with C++BuilderXE2? I tried to install it first, but received the fmi161.bpl is missing, etc messages. Also, the Demo would not run ("unable to start correctly..."). I uninstalled TeeChart, repaired Builder, then removed the "std" TeeChart components. I then reinstalled TeeChartRadXE2. When I tried to compile a program, Tee916.lib could not be found (and is not on my machine).

Please, check you have the Update 3 installed in the RAD Studio XE2. The update 4 has just been published and we are working to make an installer supporting it asap.

Also, if you are a source code customer, you can either use it with update 3 or update 4 using the Recompile tool provided with the source code installer to compile and install the packages into the IDE.

I installed update 3 for XE2, then reinstalled TeeChart. I received the same error messages when I opened Builder. Apparently no libraries are created.

Hi,

After installing Update 3, the fmx packages are renamed to fmx161, and after installing the Update 4 they are renamed to fmx162. That's why the TeeChart packages that have been compiled using an older Update can't work with a new one; it can't find the new fmx16? package.
Please, make sure the fmx units (fmx.bpi, fmx.dcp, fmx.lib, fmx.res) are in the lib folders and the fmx161.bpl (Update3) or fmx162.bpl (Update4) are in the bin & bin64 folders after installing an update, before running TeeRecompile.

So you have C++Builder personality, and not Delphi personality, right?

As the error message indicates, for some reason TeeRecompile fails when trying to find the fmx.dcp. I can find this file in my RAD Studio installation at "RAD Studio\9.0\lib\win32\debug" and also at "RAD Studio\9.0\lib\win32\release".
Do you have the RAD Studio installation in a location different that the default "C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\9.0"? I ask it because one of the possibilities could be that TeeRecompile could be looking for some dependence in a wrong place.

Anyway, the easiest solution while we don't find the root of the problem and a fix for it would probably be installing the binary version, avoiding TeeRecompile. Here is how you should do it:

- First of all we'd need to clean a little bit the IDE. With the IDE closed, run TeeInstall.exe from your "\Compiled\Delphi16.win32" folder and answer "yes" if the message asks you to UNINSTALL TeeChart. If it asks you to INSTALL it, just answer "no".
- Then open the IDE. Navigate through all the path lists and clean any reference to any TeeChart installation. It should be enough to check the lists:

- These are the lists to check for the Delphi personality. You shouldn't have them but I prefer to mention them too:

- Check also that all the TeeChart packages (TeeChart Standard or Pro, VCL and FMX, TeeMaker, TeeTree) in "Component/Install Package..." are unselected and/or removed from the list.

Now that you should have the IDE clean, reinstall TeeChart binary version. You can do it simply running the TeeInstall.exe from the binary version installation if you still have it, or running the installer.
After installing the binary version, check the paths and check that TeeChart it works in a new simple example project. The paths should be the same than mentioned in a previous mail changing "Sources\Compiled\" for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart 2012 for RAD XE2". This is:

At "Tools/Options..." menu, make sure the following paths are on the top of the lists:
- In the "Environment Options/C++ Options/Paths and Directories/Selected Platform (32-bit Windows)/Include path" list there should be a reference to your TeeChart Include path at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart 2012 for RAD XE2\Delphi16.win32\Include".
- In the "Environment Options/C++ Options/Paths and Directories/Selected Platform (32-bit Windows)/Library path" list there should be a reference to your TeeChart Library and Obj paths at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart 2012 for RAD XE2\Delphi16.win32\Lib", and another to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steema Software\TeeChart 2012 for RAD XE2\Delphi16.win32\Lib\Obj".
