Legend is missing when saving chart as jpg

Post by Oblicore » Tue Aug 26, 2008 9:27 am

Hello,

We have a tee file that we open in a small tool we have created, when we save the tee file using the properties page, the legend disapears and is not included in the picture.

I am uploading a small project to show the problem. zip file name problem.zip. the zip includes:
1. jpg file that is missing the legend.
2. original tee file
3. small tool.

to see the problem:
1. run the tool
2. press on "select tee" and select the tee file from the zip file
3. open the properties pop up.
4. go to export tab
5. select jpeg.
6. go to size tab and change hight to 450 (the problem occurs up until hight = 490)
7. press save and save the file.

please advice on how to solve this problem.

thanks
zoe.

Hi zoe,

Sorry but I'm not able to run the .exe here, it raises an error.

I've also tried loading the .tee file in a TeeChart Pro v8 ActiveX application but I don't see any legend on it either.

Would you be so kind to send us a simple example project we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here?

Thanks in advance.

thanks for the fast reply.

We use teechart pro 7 and not 8, perhaps that is the problem? can you test the file using activex version 7?

what error does the exe file return?
I am uploading the whole winform project and not just the exe, maybe this will allow you to run it better. (LoadTeechart.zip)

thanks
Zoe

Hi Zoe,

Ok, now I see what the problems are:

1. I didn't see any legend because my chart was too small, making it bigger displayed the legend and this could also be exported into a JPEG file.

2. Ok, I could reproduce the issue here now. I'm not sure if it's a bug or that you just make an image big enough to fit the legend since it has very long items. Anyway, I'll add this to the list to be investigated.

thank you Narcis,

For our clients this is considered a bug because they need the chart in a certain size. I will wait to see what you investigation will find.

Zoe.

Hi Zoe,

We have reviewed this issue here and we don't think it's a bug. The legend is not displayed because if you enable the "keep aspect ratio" option the chart is too narrow to fit legend in since it's very wide. You have 2 options here:

1. Set a custom position for the legend.

2. Export the image disabling the "keep aspect ratio" checkbox so the chart is wide enough to fit the legend in.
