Clip function in OpenGL not working

Post by werner » Fri Aug 03, 2007 2:44 pm

Moved from public newsgroup :

I use the latest version V7.12
it seems that the clip function is not ok with OpenGL, it appears
with all the points when I zoom in with a window.

Demoversion is uploaded to your server (opengl.zip)

Please execute the geminyxIII.exe, press the 3D - Button and then the load Button in the 3D-Form.
Open the MIXDAD.01z. You should see a 3D-Graphic, check the OPENGL-Checkbox and zoom with the mouse.
You should see a screenshot in the file opengl.bmp.

with best regards
Werner

Hi Werner,

I'm not able to reproduce the problem here following your instructions. Would you be so kind to let us know if there's anything else we should do to reproduce the problem here?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Werner,

Finally I could reproduce the problem here. First I had to zoom the chart using default mouse zooming and then use the slider to make the chart smaller and be able to display the chart as in your attachment.

I'm not aware if OpenGL supports clipping. However, I've added the issue (TV52012382) to our defect list to be reviewed for future releases.

I recently tried to use opengl with the activex TChart version and am getting the same problem. Was there a fix for this that I'm missing or a workaround. I'm using multiple custom axis so when I zoom the series from the other axis draw over each other

Best regards,
Jerron

Hi Jerron,

No, this specific issue hasn't been fixed yet but investigations are being done on the OpenGL field.

Hi Narcís,

Thanks for the quick response.
I saw in another post that you are working on a new OpenGL engine for the next major release and that you were hoping to release this between the 2nd and 3rd quarter of this year (for the activex version) and possibly earlier for the beta release. Is this when the clipping could potentially be introduced or are there any planned maintenance releases it might be in?

Best regards,
Jerron

Hi Jerron,

It is still too early for being able to confirm that as you can see in our roadmap for 2009 here:
