Can't install TQRChart (TeeChart 7.08) with BDS2006 & QR

I had installed TeeChart QRChart component in Delphi 2006 and compiled my software no problem but when I restart Delphi and try to open a form with a TQRChart on it I get the error

The application has failed to start because DclTeePro710.bpl was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

"TeeChart 7 for QuickReport" is still listed in the Design Packages list under Component|Install Packages but there is no component associated with it and the application still compilies OK.

I can remove it from the list and install the package again and it appears ok but when I open a form with the TQRChart on it i get the error message again.

The only way to fix this is to go through the reinstall process again but I can't do that every time a start Delphi. What is the underlying problem?


Delphi has the two paths in the Project|Options and in the search path of the application as do the the two components DCLTQR710.bpl and TeeQR710.bpl in their search path.

Hi,

the problem could be that you have compiled you app with run time packages. (meaning you need to deploy the packages in addition to the exe). To statically link it all in please go to the project options and uncheck the use run time packages and check if this solves the problem.

are you a Source code customer ? If so, have you tried to reinstall the TeeChart Pro packages using the TeeRecompile Tool, checking the "QuickReport packages" checkbox ?

I was trying to install 7.08 which doesn't have the TeeRecompile Tool, so I uninstalled it and installed 7.07 which does have the tool and I ticked the QuickReport option but it was not installed and there are no instructions with this version as to where I go from here.

Could you recomend a version of TeeChart (and TQRChart) that I can install with BDS 2006? I've been trying to do this for several days now.

It looks as if the recompiile utility (TeeChart 7.07) doesn't actually compile the quickreport packages and then doesn't install them either.

Is there any way you can give me the compiled versions of the TeeChart 7.08 QuickReport components, for BDS 2006(Update 2) and QuickReport 4.06?

My next step is to go back to Delphi 7 with old versions of TeeChart & QuickReport until I can get a version that will install with BDS 2006.

The source code version of TeeChart Pro v7.08 should include the TeeRecompile tool. Are you sure it's not included. If so, please let me know an email account where I can send to you the latest TeeRecompile Tool to test if it compiles/installs the TQRChart component or no.

Some days ago I did a test with D2005 and QR406 and worked fine. Here I don't have a QR version here to install it with D2006, but if you still having problems let me know and I'll do a test.

First of all, please check the v7.08 contains the TeeRecompile tool and try to do the installation checking the QuickReport checkbox.

When the QuickReport box is ticked in the 7.07 version install the quickreport component is definately not installed and the 7.08 version I have [TeeChart7.08Delphi2006.exe, 40MB] does not install the recompile utility.

The Recompile tool is only included with the source code installer.

To properly install Quick Report packages for TeeChart v7 and Delphi 2006 you should follow the instructions at this article.

BTW: There's a known issue with Quick Report flickering with BDS 2006 which was fixed with the latest source code release. If you don't have access to this please let me know and I'll send you latest qrtee.pas.
