T-Chart crash

Post by mboangher » Thu Nov 24, 2005 11:29 am

Hi there,

I'm using the T-Chart v6.0.0.4, and this seems to crush my program.
Description: after intialising the chart and fast closing its window, it comes a win32 errror. I think this is caused by the Chart (but it could be my programm also). If you have any ideea how I can overcome this I would be very grateful.

Hi mboangher,

Could you please send us an example we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here?

You can post your files at news://www.steema.net/steema.public.attachments newsgroup.

Hello again, I'm back to business, and this error (previousely posted by a colleague) is still there.
We're using a TeeChart ActiveX controll embedded in our big PowerBuilder application, therefore I cannot provide any sample code.

The chart has been embedded in a container (PowerBuilder user-control) placed on a TabPage, in a window. We populate the chart at opening the window or when data in window changed and resize it at resize.
Still, when quickly closing the window while in process, the whole application crashes.
I tryed to guard this with bool flags on close events - does not work.
I followed the suggested error handling strategy in PB manuals and still have the same problem. Actually, the Error and the ExternalErrror events for this OleCustomObject do not get triggered.
Could you please have a look at http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index ... .5/toc.xml
, maybe there is a certain uncompatibility between the two programming models...
Thank you!

Hi,

ok, we're reviewing if the problem is related with TeeChart and if so try to find a solution.
We'll let you know something about it asap.

Thank you, I'm looking forward for your resolution, as I have two black boxes (PowerBuilder and TeeChart) and no much possibility to debug :(

I saw that TeeChart is very much used in Delphi and VB applications.

Is there any report of this problem for these applications or is it a PowerBuilder specific problem, please ? This could help us find the level al which it crashes.

Hi mboangher,

I'm afraid this is a PowerBuilder specific problem. We are currently investigating this issue and will get back to you when we have further information.
