What's the easiest way to copy a chart in memory?

I'd like to be able to make a copy of a chart in memory and then manipulate this copy (e.g. change border or themes) and then export to a file or the clipboard before finally freeing the memory chart. So what is the easiest way to transfer one chart, data and all, to another chart?
