Line series width

Hi

Is is possible to set the decimal line width for line series? All the samples use integer line width, however System.Drawing.Pen.Width allows decimals (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... width.aspx). We would like to have decimal widths, like 1.25, 1.5, 2.

Please advise.

Hi Richard,

Yes, but line's pen is a Steema.TeeChart.Drawing.ChartPen and doesn't support double values for width. Anyway, I'll add your request to the wish-list to be considered for inclusion in next releases.

Any news about this long awaited feature? Is it planned to the next release? Decimal line width will really make the line charts look smooth. Can you please provide any ETA?

Thanks!

Hi Richard,

This feature request is ID TF02013697. it hasn't been implemented yet nor I can provide an estimate date for now. I recommend you to be aware at this forum or subscribe to our RSS news feed for new release announcements and what's implemented on them.

I've been waiting for this feature for over a year now and am very keen to see it implemented. The lack of the ability to refine the quality of the trend line widths is preventing a major client of mine from using the application that I developed using TeeCharts. My client is a major financial publisher who has precise formatting requirements. The 1 pixel trend lines of TeeCharts are too thin and even show some spikes at sharp turning points in trends. The two pixel width lines, on the other hand, are too thick.

Most charting tools that I've seen lately allow for pixel widths like 1.25, 1.5, 1.75, etc. If there is anything that can be done to escalate this issue, please consider this an urgent plea.

As an example, please look at this chart of copper here: http://www.dailywealth.com/market_window/default.htm. The line is thin and "pointy" at the tops and bottoms. This is my chart that was generated with TeeCharts.

On the other hand, please see this attached screenshot of basically the same chart from stockcharts.com. The trend line is much more pleasing to the eye - smoother and thicker but not too thick.

Thanks in advance,

Richard.

Hi Richard,

Thank you very much for your feedback. I increased this request's priority in the list. In the meantime you may want to consider using TeeChart.WPF.dll or TeeChart.Silverlight.dll as their pens already allow double width values.

According to this topic threads timestamps you requested this feature on 8th January 2009, much less than a year ago  .
