Hi,

I'm getting an errror when the installer is trying to add to the toolbox and if I try to add the dll my self it doesn't appear. I'm using vs2005.

the intaller error is
TOOLBO~.EXE has encountered a problem etc...

does anyone know of a solution.

Hi Vidar,

Are you using the specific installer for Visual Studio 2005? If so, after executing it, even you get the error you mentioned, are the components installed in the toolbox?

Anyway, if you have been able to install the components manually, there's no problem since that part of the installer just installs TeeChart in Visual Studio's toolbox.

Instead of installing the assemblies manually, another thing you could try is running ToolBoxEditor2005.exe at C:\Program Files\Steema Software\TeeChart for .NET v2\Utils (Default English installation path).

Same error here. I ran ToolboxEditor2005 wit hthe updated path (v2 in the readme is of course wrong), but with 0 0 it always crashed. The tool ran without the two numeric argiuments but did not add all the icons

P.S.

the toolbox problem occurs with the latest update (from July 11) when no TChart was installed before (I just switched to a new computer and wanted to install the latest version)

It is OK when I installed the version from may 07 and updated to the July version

Hi Hans,

Please notice that a new version was posted last week. Does it work fine at your end?

Thanks in advance.

Not really, the same arror as last time occurs, but the icons are in the toolbox now even after the error message. To reproduce: uninstall Teechart completely from Add/Remove software in the control panel, then Reset the toolbar icons in Visual Studio (2005). The installation shows a crash window when it tries to add to the toolbar, but then continues.

Hi mcs,

Can you please confirm that in spite of the error, the components are available in your Visual Studio's ToolBox and you can use them at design-time?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, everything seem to work OK, in the designer and at runtime.

I experienced the same Toolbo~1.exe error during installation, but the tools turned up in Visual Studio.

At som stage the tools disappeared , and inspired by comments in this topic i ran ToolBoxEditor2005.exe . This did not have any effect at all.

I then downloaded the Jan 2008 version of Teechart.net and re-installed.
The installation again generated the Toolbo~1.exe error, but the tools re-appeared in Visual Studio.

What is this Toolbo~1.exe error, og what is the ToolBoxEditor2005.exe supposed to do ?

Hi Morten,

This could be because you had a VS2005 instance open when running the installer or, though none was open, a Steema tab already existed.

Double-clicking the tool won't do anything. This exe is a command-line exe and takes a number of arguments which are passed to it by the installer. It installs the components at the toolbox but if it fails to do so they can always be installed manually.
