Does OpenGL work in version 2?

Hello,

Has OpenGL been fully implemented in TeeChart for .Net v2? I see just a black canvas when I run the OpenGL demo. (C:\Program Files\Steema Software\TeeChart for .NET v2\Examples\OpenGLProject\bin\ExecutableDemo\OpenGLDemo.exe)

The same black canvas is seen when I create a VS2005 project and drop a TeeOpenGL control and enable it. Is there some setting that I am missing?

My environment is as follows:
Win2000 SP4
DirectX 9.0c
Latest VS 2005 Pro (8.0.50727.42)
Latest (non-debug) TeeChart for .Net v2 (2.0.2179.21172)

Other than the OpenGL, my TeeChart is working fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Chuck

Hi Chuck,

I'm not able to reproduce what you report here. Are there any setting or step we should follow to reproduce it? Have you been able to reproduce that on any other machine? Have you tried changing the screen resolution and color quality?

You could also try if any of the utilities at www.opengl.org work fine at your end.

Could you please do those tests and get back to us with the results?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Narcis,

I am quite sure OpenGL works fine on my machine. In fact the OpenGL demo for TeeChart Pro 5 for Delphi works fine.

Which makes me wonder, is it possible there is a DLL conflict on my machine. I have installed many different versions of TeeChart over time: TeeChart Pro 5.02 for Delphi 5, TeeChart Pro 5.03 for Delphi 7, TeeChart for .net v2 eval, and now the latest TeeChart for .net v2 (non-debug)

And as I stated the symptom is a completely black canvas. Changing res or color depth makes no difference.

Hello CChung,

Does an application with a non-OpenGL TeeChart works fine on your machine?

Thanks in advance.

Hi CChung,

Thanks for your image. Could you please try using TeeChart for .NET evaluation in another machine to see if this works there?

Thanks in advance.

Narcis,

Yes, it works on another machine. That machine however is XP SP2, while mine is Win2000 SP4. I don't have another 2000 machine available at the moment.

Hi Chuck,

Some colleagues in the technical department told me they had experienced that problem in the past. This was related to their graphic card drivers. Sometimes they needed to install an older set. You could try different device drivers for your graphic card.
