Online activation during installation

Ladies and Gentlemen

Some time ago (January / February 2009) we have in our company the TeeChart Pro upgrade from version 5 to 8 were purchased. We have several developers and have purchased 10 licenses.

Currently, we are in Delphi 2009 with the new TeeChart Pro 8 version customization and packaging so that the developer a completed and tested development environment (IDE) get. This is our process as follows: In a test center, we install the software, configure it, and make a custom-package for the developer. The developer itself can't then no longer set settings, respectively do not install the software themselves.

We have now found that during the installation of TeeChart Pro 8 an automatic online activation takes place. Without this the installation can not be completed.
Since we installed only once, and then the software is distributed via the network, we have the following questions:

- Is the online activation system ( "physical place") subject?
- Is the online activation user-dependent?
- Can we install in a test center, and then distribute the code via network to the developer systems ( "physical place")?

Thank you for your support.

Hi axa-winterthur,

- Is the online activation system ( "physical place") subject?
If require a valid license for each Developer at installed workstation. The key is the physical place though it is acceptable for the Developer that uses that computer to also install TeeChart to a portable computer to be able to work away from his/her normal place of work. Only one of the two TeeChart development copies may be used at any one time.
- Is the online activation user-dependent?
The online activation responds to the license number. In theory one license is allowed one activation, though several activations are allowed for practical purposes.
- Can we install in a test center, and then distribute the code via network to the developer systems ( "physical place")?
If you have sufficient licenses for all installations then you may install TeeChart in the way you find most convenient. To install at the test centre and then distribute sounds like a practical option.
