I reciently upgraded to 7.08 and tried to modify an existing program
which compiled and ran and got the error

Exception class EFilerError with message 'A class name TCustomSeries already exists'.

I deleted all the charts (and includes) added the charts again and all their series, successfully compiled and ran and got the same error.

Are there any ideas?

The standard borland addition of TChart was completely removed. I removed it manually before I installed 7 pro.

I should mention that:

I am using the c++ personality
I have no issues with a new project ... it works fine.
I have deleted and re-added all of the steema components in this
project

I still get the error

Hi Dlstites,

This is most likely that your IDE is still referencing old TeeChart files. Please check Marjan's suggestion here.
