How to get TeeChart 7.07 to work with RBuilder 9.03 D6

I'm using D6, and need to get Teechart 7.07 to owrk with Reportbuilder 9.03.

Any advice on how to sort this out will be greatly appreciated

Hi doogie,

First of all make sure you Report Builder version you've supports the TeeChart Pro version you're using (you can ask this to Digital Metaphors, normally all RB versions support all TeeChart Pro versions.).

And then, install both (TeeChart Pro and Report Builder components) in the correct order :

1) Install TeeChart v7 PRO
2) Install Report Builder (it must support TeeChart PRO version)

I did just this, have the correct versions, and still no luck
I installed the packages for support of TeeChart Pro7.07, and still no luck.

Now I cannot compile any of my code that relies on Reportbuilder, as I was using it with the light delphi bundled version of TeeChart, then to get better functionality upgraded into pure frustration and at 499$

which is the problem ? Have you installed them in the correct order ?
The correct order is :

1) Uninstall all TC and RB versions
2) Install TeeChart PRO
3) Install Report Builder

No I did as you said. This does not work.
Nard from Digital Metaphors has been trying to help me, but I'm not coming right.

For now I'm going to trash TeeChart, as it doesn't install on my PC as expected, and nothing wants to work as expected afterwards, after more then 48 hours of trying, and trying.

I have D6 update 2, RTLupdate 2, and Reportbuilder 9.03 installed on my PC.
I rely heavily on reportbuilder, and IBobjects, and none of these want to owrk after installing TeeChart.

I've deleted all, and trying to get back what I had before this disaster, as I cannot compile any of my projects without errors.

I don't see why you cannot design an installer that isnatlls and compiles all the packeges to the correct addresses. All you appear to do is unzip everything, and leave the rest to the enduser to struggle through.

You should start taking a look at what other superp companies are doing!

OK so I found it out the hard way .. TeeChart Requires D6, Update 2, but also RTL Update 2 .. I didn't have the last one installed.

My comment remains .. utterly frustrating setup of the product .. especially to integrate with ReportBuilder!.

TeeChart Pro also requires to have the RTL patch 3 installed.

Hi doogie,

you should be able to get it from borland.com, at private customer page.
The non source code version of TeeChart Pro has bee compiled with this update, this is the reason why it's required.
