Use of ChartTools with SaveChartToFile

I have a routine in my Delphi6 program to save chart information with SaveChartToFile and then restore it with LoadChartFromFile. This was working fine until recently. Now I get access violations on running the rest of the program after restoring with LoadChartFromFile.
I think I have traced it to the addition recently of an AnnotationTool. Can you suggest what is the cause of this and how to deal with it?

I'm not able to reproduce the problem here. Could you please send us an example we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here?
