Hi all,

I would like to know if is there a problem with TeeChart installation files and Avast! Anti-virus application.

I'm getting alerts from Avast! with all my TeeChart installation files pointing to a "Win32:Malware-gen" threat with high severity indication.

I've just test it with "TeeChart2012RADXE2.exe". Besides, I have this problem with old TeeChart installation files ( versions 7 an 8 ) too.

After the TeeChart installation, Avast! indicates a Unwise.exe file with the same threat.

I hope you could help.

Regards,

Marcelo.

Hi Marcelo,

The installer tries to write some keys into the registry. This might be the reason why Avast thinks it may be a dangerous program. We'll contact Avast to check if they can add the program into some kind of exception list.
In the meanwhile, I guess there should be an option to tell your Avast to unblock TeeChart installer.

Avast guys just told us it shouldn't be detected as malware if you update the antivirus database. Could you please confirm it to us?

Hi Yeray,

It's OK now with version 120531-1 Avast!'s virus database.

Thank you for your prompt answer.

Marcelo.
