New features demo not showing latest features

I just installed TeeChart 2012. I have TeeChart 7 and 8 also installed. The new features demo does not appear to show the latest features. In particular, I am looking for information on using subcharts with gauges. The subchart feature does not show up in the demo under new features or all features. I saw a post that showed the location for subchart in the demo, but that location doesn't exist in mine. In addition, the picture of the new features demo in the post did not look like mine (my demo appears as the old style). Is there an issue with having multiple versions of TeeChart installed? How can I correct the new features demo?

Hello Scott,
I couldn't reproduce your problem using last version of TeeChartVCL2012. The examples of SubChart appears correctly in the All features\Tools\SubChart

You shouldn't have any problems.

How can I correct the new features demo?

Could you please tell us if you use TeeChartVCL 2012 for BCB5 o BCB6? If you use other IDE I recommend uninstall the last version you installed and install it again.

Hi Sandra,

I am running Borland C++ Builder 6 (Service Pack 3). The demo looks the same and has exactly all the same new features listed whether I run the TeeChart 7, 8, or 2012 new features demo. Here is a screenshsot of the 2012 demo when I run it on my computer.

As you can see, All features\Tools\SubChart does not show up.

I think I may try unistalling all the TeeChart versions and reinstalling TeeChart 2012. If you can provide any additional insight, I would appreciate it. Otherwise, I will try unistalling and reinstalling TeeChart. I'll let you know what I find.

Hi Scott,

The problem here is that BCB5 and BCB6 demos weren't upgraded. Therefore they still include the demos from the older versions but both IDEs have the full functionality of v2012, just out of date demos. It was considered that upgrading those demos involved a lot of work not worth for the few users using those environments nowadays. Apologies for the confusion this may have caused.

Forgot to mention you should also install BCB6's update 4. TeeChart is compiled with that update and you may have problems if not installing latest BCB6 updates available.

That makes more sense.

I will be transitioning to Builder XE3 in the near future, but I currently have several large projects still under Builder 6 (no time to convert the project to the newer IDE). I do have Builder XE installed, so I may install the XE version of TeeChart to reach the examples in the new features demo.

Hi Scott,

You're welcome.

I'm afraid C++ Builder demos are not up to date in any version, only Delphi demos have been updated. If you have problems converting any Delphi example into C++ Builder please let us know and we will try to assist you.

BTW, a firm decision hasn't been made yet but it's likely that Steema will discontinue BCB5 and BCB6 support for new versions in the near future.
