Invalid Window Handle

We had the 50 day evaluation license of the active x control running on our server. It ran out nad a couple days later we purchased a valid license and reinstalled the software. We no longer get the warning that our license has expired, but every time we close the appliction that is accessing the control we get the error:

System Error Code 1400
Invalid Window handle.
We get the error about a thousand times - then the app shuts down.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Dan,

Could you please give us some more information regarding your application? Is it a windows application or a web application?

In case it is a Web browser application, are you using the TeeChart .cab file version? For more information please have a look at "Tutorial 18 - TeeChart runtime and installation requirements". You'll find the tutorials at TeeChart program group.

Thanks Narcis.

I am running tchart7 activex control in a windows application. It's a server-client setting. The clients that hit the server through the network are not getting the error - only the machine where the tchart is installed. The chart runs without issues, but, when I close the app, I get the error. I 've looked at tuturial 18 and believe i have the settings correct.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Have you checked that you have same .ocx/.cab versions at the client and the server?

Narcis,

I'm running version 7.0.0.4 of the ocx as well as in the cab file on both the server and the clients.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Sorry but I'd like it to be clear, for the .ocx version in the .cab file have you uncompressed that and checked its .ocx file version?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Dan,

it's a strange problem. Does this happened using the Eval version ?
I suggest you uninstall all the versions (registered and eval) you've installed on the server, make sure the ocx and cab files has been removed, then download the TeeChart Pro v7.04 installer from our web site ( at the private customers download page ) and install it again.

No - this did not happen with the eval vesion. I tried your last suggestion(complete uninstall - redownload and reinstall) and am still recieving the same results. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Guys,

I have an idea. OK - maybe you guys can tell what what the difference is between the eval version and the licensed version. I think this is the way I have to try to figure this out b/c I think there is something in the licensed version that is not in the eval that is causing my problem.

I was assuming that when I tested my chart and it worked with the eval version, that it would work the same with the licensed version. Are they running differenct executables? If so, is there a way to plug my license numbers into the excutable for the eval version that is working fine? Do you think I'm leaning in the right direction here?

Thanks is advance,

Dan

Hi Gunton,

Have you tried using v7.0.0.5, last version released a few weeks ago?

Hey guys,

Tried version 7.0.0.5 with no luck. I really think we need to look at the difference b/t the eval and the no eval versions as the eval version works fine.

Is there an unlock code for the eval version maybe?

Running out of time and don't know what to do.

Perhaps someone could take a look at what I'm doing? I've got a demo/support tool we can use. I can be contacted at dmenninger@midstar.com. I can supply my phone number if need be.

THanks,

Dan

Hi guys - we also noticed that the eval version that we are using that works correctly is version 7.0.0.2. Could we get a licensed copy of version 7.0.0.2 to try?

Thanks,

Dan
