Problem Installing TeeChart Pro v5 ActiveX Control

Hi Team,


I am using licensed version of Tee Chart Pro v5 ActiveX Control for setting up of development environment for testing purpose of Visual Basic application on a Windows 7 virtual machine.
Below is the machine specification.

Windows 7 32 bit Enterprise running on a Virtual machine (windows 7 host)
Running installer as admin
UAC turned off
NO AV installed
Firewall off

Installation of program hangs on the final stage giving a message ‘Updating System Configuration, please wait’ below is the attachment for the same.

When I check in the task manager the process is running but the process halts here.

Hi Imran,

First of all note the last maintenance release of TeeChart v5 was published on March 2004 (more than 10 years ago!).
And Windows 7 was released on October 2009, so there were 5 years of time lag. This means TeeChart v5 ended it's life some time before Windows 7 was released.

Anyway, I've just downloaded TeeChart ActiveX v5.0.6.0 (released on October 2003), that was the last v5 complete release, and I could install it without problems in a Windows 8 x64 machine.

I'm preparing a VM with a clean installation of Windows 7 32bit and VB6 to check the same installer on it.

Hello Imran,

Maybe the install process is hanged for you due a problem there was in the old versions of TeeChartActivex with the printers are installed in the VM. See it in the thread. If it is the case, I would like suggest you disconnect printers as explain in this post to solve the problem.
