MarksTip Shadows Persistent After Mousing Away

Using Microsoft Visual Basic 6 sp6, TeeChart v7 ActiveX
Microsoft Windows XP sp2
GeForce FX 5200 video card (video issue?)

Code: Select all

TChart1.Tools.Add tcMarksTip
TChart1.Tools.Items(0).asMarksTip.Style = smsValue
MarksTip's work fine, but for some reason, running inside or outside the IDE, the tooltips remain behind after mousing off the chart. (not the tips exactly, but their shadow).

Not every tip does this, but enough do it so there are various left that it's bothersome to the user.

Hi Chris,

yes, it's a known bug, already added on our bug list. It only happens on WinXP machines. We'll try to fix it fot the next maintenance releases.
For the moment there's not a workaround.

Hi,

I have 2 questions about this issue :

1) Is there a way to remove xp shadow style of a markstip ?
2) Can you tell me when this issue will be corrected ?

I have seen that if you run the program in "windows 2000 compatibility mode", the problem is corrected but this is not a way for us.

Thanks for your answer.

Fred.

Hi Fred,

>1) Is there a way to remove xp shadow style of a markstip ?
The only way for the moment is unchecking the "Show shadow on hints..." option of the WinXP or Win2003 Server settings.

>2) Can you tell me when this issue will be corrected ?
We'll try to add a solution (most likely removing the shadows for the Markstip) in the next maintenance release.

Yes, it only happens if you've the above option activated.

Hi,

I would also be keen to see this resolved as soon as possible as I am experiencing the same issue.

Thanks,
David
