Access Violation when nearest tool is added

I am using the version 5 and updated today to 5.06 and the problem persist.
The error message is: "Access violation at address 504A1836 module 'TEECHART.OCX'. Read of address FFFFFFFC."
This error appears only if I include the nearest point tool. The tools had already a Marks Tips at first.
The error occurs at run-time. After adding a point to the serie(0), if you perform a series(0).clear the error occurs. The VB continues to work, but the series is not cleared and the error seems to appears for every operation performed in the serie.
I would like to know if this error was corrected in the later versions.
