Redistribution of teechart.ocx in open sourced software?

Hi,

One of the TeeChart licenses that I purchased a few of years ago was used to develop a product featuring a web-based UI.
In that product, Teechart ActiveX charts are instantiated as ActiveX objects in HTML/PHP pages. This product falls in the “Applied Web browser scenario” of your licensing web page.

The client on behalf of which I developed this product recently realized they have a licensing issue with MySQL, distributed as part of the product. To address this issue, they are considering opening the source of the software.

Would this violate the TeeChart license ?

By opening the source code of their product, my client only wants to respect the requirements of the MySQL license. They do not expect (nor wish) their customers to modify/improve the product. Neither do they want to create an open source community.

I’m sure they would totally agree to make it extremely clear that people wanting to modify the app should purchase their own TeeChart license, as stated in your licensing web page.

TIA for your help.

Best regards,

Serge Wautier.
