Tooltip

Post by janjons » Fri Sep 23, 2005 12:26 pm

Hi,

I did add tooltips to my serie with this command:

m_Chart1.GetTools().Add(8); // tooltip

Problem:
If a tooltip is displayed, and user move mouse out of tchart component, befor the tooltip time expires and the tooltip dissapears, then tchart will leave the shadow after the tooltip on the chart forever. if you activate the program again, wait for tooltip and then fast leave the chart, then you have one more box, etc, etc.
I have to close the chart totally to get rid of all the gray boxes.

Hi janjons,

Which TeeChart version are you using? I'm not able to reproduce this using latest version available at our Customer Download Area, which is v7.0.0.5.

Update

Post by janjons » Mon Sep 26, 2005 8:12 am

I downloaded latest version of the version 6, and error is still the same.
It is only PIE grafs that casues this error, If I change to a BAR then it works fine.
I can email pictures of output if this helps.
Bars has a more clear defined area for each of the bars, and tooltip dissapears as soone as you are outside one bar, PIE is more fuzzy. I can move cursor far away from a PIE and stil tooltip remains, and sometimes it is still there even if mouse is outside the hole window. And this is when the paint error accures.

Hi janjons,

I'm not able to reproduce it here using latest v6 release. Could you please send us an example we can run "as-is" to reproduce the problem here? You can post your files at news://www.steema.net/steema.public.attachments newsgroup.

Hi Jan,

Have you checked if this happens on other machines? It could be your graphic card driver which is causing the problem. You could also try updating those drivers.

This problem doesn't occur on my machine using our latest v6 built. If you want, I can also send you that built to see how it works for you.

Hi,

Yes, we have this error in many different mashines, of different type, models and graphics.
We can't find any computer that we have, that doesn't get this error.
I upploded a sample program, did you get it?

And Yes, please give me anything I can test.

/ Jan

Hello,

I have a somewhat unrelated visual problem that is also driver/video card related. For now it is fixed by going into Advanced Settings of Display Properties and playing around with "Hardware Acceleration" scale on the Troubleshoot tab. My problem was "fixed" when I've set the sliver to the next to slowest setting.

Hope this helps,
Alex

Hi Jan,

We have found the bug which was causing that and we have fixed it and built a new v6 .ocx which I have sent to your customer contact e-mail address. This fix will also be included in next v7 maintenance release.

Eric, I've also replied to your message related to that issue.
